In this special selection of single-origin coffees, only one can be defined as Specialty Coffee, as it receives an annual official score for its quality. This is the Mantiqueira Azul Brazil 100% Arabica, rated as Specialty coffee with a score of 83/100.
This amazing coffee is special for us also because it is produced by a Friulian (like us) farmer who has moved to Brazil years ago due to his passion for coffee and comes from an excellent and rare quality of Brazilian Arabica.

VICTOR MORASSI, FRIULIAN FARMER IN BRAZIL

We came across this coffee thanks to the Friulian entrepreneur Victor Morassi, co-owner of CQT Coffees, a Brazilian coffee exporting company, based in Carmo de Minas, Brazil, working in collaboration with a cooperative composed of thousands of small and medium coffee-farmers. Over time, this entity has become a benchmark in the specialty world, thanks to the production of excellent Brazilian coffees.

Together, they work diligently to produce high-quality coffee, respecting and supporting local communities, with targeted investments in educating growers with new processing techniques and modern equipment, in a context of genuine passion for their work.

THE EXCELLENT REGION OF BRAZIL FROM WHICH IT COMES

The Mantiqueira de Minas region is located on the Minas Gerais side of the Serra da Mantiqueira, in the southern part of the state of Minas Gerais. With a centuries-old tradition in producing high-quality coffee, Mantiqueira de Minas is today considered one of Brazil’s most awarded regions. In 2011, it was recognized as a Geographical Indication (IG), in the Indication of Origin (IGP) mode for its tradition and world-renowned fame for producing coffee specialties with a very distinct sensory profile. Additionally, in June 2020, this region obtained the prestigious “Nomination of Origin” certification – the second in Brazil to achieve it.
These are rare and amazing coffees, reflecting the combination of a unique mineral-rich terroir, cultivated at 1,200 meters altitude with ideal climatic conditions, and the local pursuit of excellence.

SINGLE ORIGIN 100% ARABICA, HOW TO ENJOY THEM AT HOME

Single Origin 100% Arabica coffees are no longer just a dream but a magnificent reality! Whenever we go to a café, we can ask for a special coffee, a selection of pure Arabica from a plantation in one of the world’s most renowned countries for coffee production.
But that’s not all, we can also choose to buy a package of Single Origin 100% Arabica beans and enjoy it at home in complete tranquility.
The Single Origin 100% Arabica coffee type is also particularly suitable for filtered brewing, in addition to the classic moka. For filter coffee, a specific extraction method is used, collected in a pitcher called Chemex, happening through a “percolation” of hot water passing through the ground coffee placed in a paper filter. The water passes through the mixture and the filter, and with patience, a beverage capable of releasing unique aromas is obtained, which can also be enjoyed as an alternative to hot afternoon tea.
